About Us

Author, Jeannette Israel

My name is Jeannette Israel. I live in the New Tiger City of Metro Manila, Mandaluyong, Philippines.

I started cooking when I was 12 years old. My grandmother taught me to cook the popular Adobo (Filipino chicken stew).

Her famous line, “You must know how to cook so that your husband will not leave you.”

I laugh whenever she drops those lines on me.

I am passionate about cooking for my family. I experiment with Filipino dishes, adding my twists to them. That’s why I call this blog “PINOY TWIST.”

Cooking is my love language. I love cooking for my family and friends. They say my food reflects how Filipinos express themselves and how they choose to express themselves.

Many of my friends ask me about my recipes, so I created a food blog to share Filipino recipes for everyone who loves or misses the culture.

I aim to teach everyone how unique Filipino dishes serve as a strong bond for every family.

When there is food on the table, Filipinos gather around it, and everyone becomes one when serving a meal.

I hope Pinoy Twist will help Filipino Cuisine be cooked worldwide because it’s distinct and delicious. It’s unlike anything you have tasted elsewhere. Great ready for life, with a Twist!

We also have an American office that helps with getting our content to the FilAm audience! They are based in Iowa.
